Corinthian Lodge 3600 D Day Tribute

Corinthian Lodge 3600 meets at Hoyle Court Masonic Hall, Baildon. The Lodge was consecrated in 2012 and for over a 110 years met on the fourth friday in each month. Due to changing times permissions were obtained from UGLE and PGL to amend our By Laws to meet on the first thursday of each month.

Thus it was that our regular meeting in June 2024 fell on the 80th Anniversary of D Day Thursday 6th June, 2024.The summons was issued and arrangements made to Read the Oration Provided by Province in Open Lodge, which is a fine tribute to the momentous events of that day.

In addition  at midnight on the 5th June, 2024,  Brethren of the Lodge, attended Baildon War Memorial in Browgate, Baildon  and held a 20 min vigil in honour of the events of D Day, the Oration was read by WBro Sharman and a plaque laid on behalf of the Lodge and the Province. Afterwards Brethren toasted the events with a glass of whisky. That night at 6.30 pm the Lodge was tiled and a ‘demonstration ceremony of  Initiation held’. At the festive board arrangements had been made to invite our new candidate Mr Daniel Murphy who is an ex member of the Parachute Regiment. (Daniel will be initiated in July 2024.)The Loyal Toast was proposed and coupled with Daniels name a toast was proposed to the Armed Forces Covenant.
